Fenton Out Of Gothard Cup
Despite being heavily outgraded on boards 2 to 5, Fenton put up a great fight in last night's Gothard U161 County Cup Semi-Final before going down by 4 - 1. In fact, Cheddleton's board 4 was graded higher than Rob on board 1. However, the match was much closer than the score suggests with boards 2 and 3 going right down to the wire. Rob was his usual dependable self with a draw on board 1 but the highlight of the evening for Fenton was a draw on board 5 by Young Ernie Wilkinson against a player graded 34 points higher than him.
