Fenton Winning Streak Comes To An End

The 'A' team's winning streak came to an end last night when they were held to a 2.5 - 2.5 draw by bottom club Alsager 'A'. In a match that we had high hopes of winning we were disappointingly beaten on the top two boards. However a 16 move grandmaster draw for me on board 3, plus wins for Mike and Geoff on boards 4 and 5, gave us a share of the points. We are still sitting in 5th position, just 2 points behind Cheddleton 'B' and Holmes Chapel Knights, who are in joint 3rd position.
