It was a dismal night for the club last night, with two matches played and two matches lost.
Ray was forced to withdraw from the 'A' team so we had to borrow Mike from the 'C' team - unfortunately to no avail as we still went down by 3.5 - 1.5 against a resurgent Crewe 'A', who have now moved up to 3rd in the Division 2 table. The loss of Mike meant that the 'C' team were weakened for their match against Newcastle 'E'. Despite a Captain's performance on board 2 by Chris and a draw by Stuart on board 3, we went down by 2.5 - 1.5. It's a big match in Division 4 next week though, when the 'B' and 'C' teams play each other. Will there be blood on the carpet at the end of the evening ?
