New Venue
There were no league matches for the club last night but 7 of us turned up at the Tollgate for some friendly matches - not that matches between Stuart and Ernie are ever that friendly !! I can tell you all that the new venue is fantastic. We are in an upstairs room, away from any noise, and it is a perfect venue for playing chess. Nicely carpeted and decorated and large tables to spread out on. We should thank John White for finding it and organising getting us in at no cost to the club. The highlight of the night was the International match between France, represented by Max Launay, and England, represented by me. Honours were even in a 1.5 - 1.5 draw !!
