After languishing at the foot of the table for most of the season, the 'C' team have completed their fixtures by winning their last 3 matches in succession. The latest win was a 2.5 - 1.5 victory at top of the table Cheddleton 'F' last night, a result that opens up the Division 4 title race. Wins for Glyn and Derek on boards 1 and 3, plus a draw for Ernie on board 2, gave us the points. Ernie's was a particularly good result as he was up against an opponent graded 37 points higher than him. Click here for the match score card. We are now above both Crewe 'C' and 'D' in the table, although they still have matches to play. However, if Crewe 'D' fail to win their final match against 2nd placed Newcastle 'C' we are guaranteed to avoid the Wooden Spoon.
